As Director of Marketing and Supporter Engagement, Nicola Smedley is responsible for the Cancer Research UK brand, marketing strategy and delivery, along with the supporter contact centre, for the charity. Having been at the charity for nearly 4 years, she has led the centralisation and transformation of the marketing and the supporter engagement team to a digitally focused, audience first team. Nicola’s past experience has been in a number of telco/tech sector roles in BT Group, Cable & Wireless and Vodafone, spanning over 20 years – holding senior product and marketing positions. Nicola’s most recent role in BT was as Vice President of Marketing for BT Global, this included operations in 20 countries globally, across all marcoms; PR, analyst relations, marketing, brand and field marketing, marketing technology and CRM.
